Elementary Faith Formation

Liturgy of the Word for Children During mass, all children ages 6-12 will be invited into the church basement for the Liturgy of the Word presented in a separate environment appropriate for children to interact with the scripture of the weekend. In order for this very valuable ministry to happen, we are in need of volunteers to lead the children. If you feel you have gifts in this area and would like more information, please contact Jennifer Schneider at Faith Formation office.

Sunday School for children ages 3 through Kindergarten is held on scheduled Sunday mornings during the 10:30 a.m. Mass in the Parish Activity Center.  Sharing God’s Story by Brown Roa invites children to explore Bible stories in fun and active ways.

First Reconciliation and First Communion - The curriculum used during the Second Grade in St. Wenceslaus School and the Wednesday evening Faith Formation Classes include study of both sacraments. Parents receive the opportunity throughout four meetings to reflect on what the sacraments mean for us today and how to help them become meaningful for our children. Parents are also provided with material for faith sharing experiences with their children in the home throughout the year. A First Communion Retreat is held the month prior to the celebration of First Communion.
First Communion: April 24/25 and May 1/2 - at 5PM Saturdays and 8:30 and 10:30 am Sundays.

Silver Burdett’s curriculum, Blest Are We, for grades 1-5 is based on the four pillars of the Catechism: What Catholics Believe, How Catholics Worship, How Catholics Live and How Catholics Pray.

Grades 1-5 meet on scheduled Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:15 p.m.
