Music Ministry- Adult and Student opportunities
Music ministry is a wonderful way to become involved in our Church community. By leading our congregation in sung prayer and enhancing their experience through instruments, we hope to bring people to a more prayerful and inspirational experience within our worshipping community. All rehearsals start September 13th & September 14th in the Music Room – Church basement. If you are interested, and can not make a rehearsal time, please call to make other arrangements. GRADES K – 12
TUESDAYS: September 13th – First Rehearsal
- Children’s Handbell Choir – Grades 4-6 2:30-3:00 Tues.
- Handbell Choir 7th and 12th Grade 3:15-4:00 Tues.
- Children’s Handbell Choir–Grades 4-6 4:00-5:00 Tues.
- Youth Choir-Grades 5-8 Tues. 5:00-5:45 or 10:40am(SWS)
New! SWS Families: If afterschool doesn’t fit, but your child still would love to sing, SWS has worked into its schedule the possibility for your child to attend a once a week rehearsal on Tuesday mornings from 10:40-11:05am. This group will then merge with the Youth Choir that meets after school when they sing at mass.
- Family Choir – Children must be accompanied by an Adult
- TUESDAYS 5:45pm-pizza, 6:00pm-rehearse, 6:45pm-go home!
- WEDNESDAYS September 14th– First Rehearsal
- Children’s Choir K-4 2:30 – 3:00 Wed. or 5:45-6:10 Wed.
Faith Formation classes begin at 6:15pm
- Schola - Grade 4(must be in Children’s Choir) 3:00-3:15 Wed.

- Instrument Ensemble – Grades 5-12 3:30-4:00 Wed.Any skill levels welcome!
- High School Choir – Grades 9-12 5:00-5:30 Wed. How about an a cappella group?? Interested?
Adult Opportunities:
All rehearsals will be held in the Music Room, St. Wenceslaus Church basement.
No Pre-registration needed!
- Adult Handbell Choirs: Ringing Handbells is a wonderful way to become involved with the Music Ministries. The Adult Handbell Choir rings 3 octaves making each ringer responsible for two main bells. We have just added 4 octaves of Handchimes!!
- Rehearsals begin: Wed.6:00–6:45PM Begin.September. 14th
- Adult Choir (SATB): The Adult Choir ministers to the community at various mass times. In addition to congregational support, a variety of musical styles and difficulties are chosen to enhance our worship experience. All skill levels are welcome!
- Rehearsals begin: Wed. September 14th – 7:00 – 8:30pm
- Family Choir: Choosing more contemporary music, this choir meets for three Tuesdays, sings once a month and has the fourth Tuesday off!! Children may join this choir with an adult(parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, etc.)All ages welcome!! Schedule: 5:45pm arrive; share pizza (provided - no cost) and conversation, 6:00pm rehearse music, 6:45pm end of rehearse, 7:00pm –Home!!
- Rehearsals begin: Tuesday, September 13th 5:45pm
- Adult Instrument Ensemble: Help us add to the worship experience by including your instrument and talent!! Any instrument is welcome! Rehearsals are limited. Please call if interested
- Marthas and Vaclavs Resurrection Choir: Ministers primarily at funeral mass times. (Funerals are usually during the day, in the morning) New members are always welcome! No weekly rehearsal. Please call if interested
- Flute Ensemble: This ensemble of all flutes rehearses when convenient for its players. Special music for the flute ensemble is chosen as well as congregational hymns to support our worship. Please call Deborah Prelesnik 492-6469 or Donna Mae if interested
- Cantor: Individuals who lead the congregation in sung prayer. If you are interested in this ministry, please call for information and training sessions.
